True Pioneers of Public Golf in New England

It all began back in 1927, when Louis K. Luff and his son, Richard E. Luff, began carving a special gem from the once rural forest-land of Lynnfield, Massachussets. Both had a unique vision that public golf would one day flourish in New England, and it's safe to say that over 80 years later their vision has indeed come true. In 1929, Sagamore Spring Golf Club became one of the first 18-hole Daily Fee courses to open for play north of Boston, and to this day remains one of the most beloved public courses in all of New England.

Years later in 1960, Richard D. Luff (oldest son of Richard E. Luff) brought Sagamore's vision of daily fee golf to New Hampshire's picturesque seacoast region, opening Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club for play in 1962. In a region abundant with private clubs, Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club became an instant favorite amongst local players of all ages, and remains one of the the Seacoast's most popular golfing destinations for both locals and vacationers alike.

The most recent Sagamore venture began in 2000, when Sagamore Golf, Inc. acquired the Sagamore Golf Center, now one of the premier Golf Ranges in all of New England. After $1.2 million in upgrades, it has been named "One of America's Top-100 Golf Ranges" by Golf Range Magazine multiple times since 2000... a distinction that we are truly proud of.

For over 80 years Sagamore has been a pioneer of public golf in New England, and each facility work's hard every day to make sure our customers go home with a smile on their face. The philosophy that has made Sagamore such an enduring success is quite simple... Make every customer want to come back again & again, because without the customer Sagamore would not exist.
