Interesting Facts About Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club
*SHGC was the original 'Daily-Fee' golf course to open for public play (back in 1962) in NH's popular Seacoast Region
*SHGC has been a proud host to several NHGA State Tournaments & Qualifiers
*SHGC has also been recognized on Golf Digest's 2009 Best Places to Play List
*SHGC is listed in The Guinness Book of World Records, as host to the most holes played by a 4-Ball event in one day (180)... pretty cool
*Perhaps our most notable achievement is our distinction as a founding partner & proud home to The First Tee of New Hampshire, a world-wide junior golf organization that promotes the game of golf and it's many character building attributes to juniors of all ages... growing the wonderful game of golf and keeping it accessible for younger players is vastly important to anyone who loves the game
*SHGC is also part of The Green Alliance, a key local organization that promotes & recognizes businesses that uphold sustainable practices for the benefit of the business, customer & community. SHGC dramtically limits it's use of chemicals as a means of maintaing the golf course grounds, and takes great pride in being a steward of the land & the environment.

The Golf Season & Hours of Operation
Our season typically runs from Early April through mid-December, weather permitting of  course. Our general rule of thumb... if the greens are clear of snow and ground conditions are favorable, we will be open for play... below is a helpful list of opening times based on specific time of year:

Opening Day - April 15th: 8:00 am every day (note: frost delays can occur)
April 16th - April 29th: Weekdays - 7:00 am & Weekends/Hdys - 6:30 am
April 30th - Labor Day: Weekdays - 6:00 am & Weekends/Hdys - 5:00 am
Sept 6th - Sept 30th: Weekdays - 6:30 am & Weekends/Hdys - 6:00 am
October 1st - October 16th: Weekday - 7:00 am & Weekends/Hdys - 6:30 am
October 17th - October 30th: Weekdays - 8:00 am & Wknds/Hdys - 7:00 am
October 31st - End of Season: 8:00 am every day (note: frost delays can occur)

Days & Times of Operation
*During our Peak-Season, SHGC opens for play at 6:00 am on weekdays & 5:00 am on  weekends/holidays (Note: opening times will vary during the Off-Season once sunrise times begin to change)
*Sagamore is closed for play on Christmas Day

Clubhouse & Proshop
Our comfortable, casual clubhouse is 'Public Golf Perfection', and reflects what Sagamore is all about... a place where everyone feels right at home. Inside you'll find our snack bar that serves perfect public golf fare, from classic steamed hot dogs to "on-the-go" bulkie sandwiches. Our seasonal weekend outdoor grille offers delicious grilled  Angus burgers, marinated chicken breast & sweet italian sausage... trust us, it's hard to resist 'The Sagamore Grille'. Following your round, enjoy an ice-cold beer or glass of wine in 'Poor Richard's Pub', featuring HDTV's and a comfortable atmosphere. Our proshop, it's small in size but carries the biggest & best in brand names. Titleist, Cobra, Adidas and Nike products fill the shop, so be sure to browse during your next visit to Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club. Also remember that we are always happy to place special orders for what we don't carry on the floor... just let us know and we'll see if we can help find exactly what you are looking for.

Practice Putting & Chipping Green
A great place to warm up while waiting for your playing partners to arrive. Adjacent to our 10th tees, it's conveniently located for easy access.

GHIN/USGA Handicap Service
Why register your GHIN at Sagamore? Because we give all GHIN Members a complimentary round of 18-holes every September, as a way to thank them for considering Sagamore as their "home" course!
Sagamore in an official USGA GHIN site, offering full golf handicapping services. If you are looking to track your own progress or want to be able to compete in virtually any golf event, consider registering for your GHIN handicap. An annual fee does apply, and all Sagamore GHIN Members are eligible for our monthly club tournaments.

Weekend 'Prime Times'
Our 'Prime Times' allow 4-somes to lock-in their favorite weekend morning time from May thru October (all times up until 9:00 am are available for contract). Just think, no more dealing with the countless phone calls, the uncertainties, or the occasional headaches involved with landing your ideal weekend time, and all for a mere $50 per player! Walking vs. Riding
Although Sagamore has a full fleet of 65 Club Cars nicely fitted with both tops & windshields, we always allow & encourage walking (after all, that's how they do it at the Old Course at St. Andrews). Sagamore's terrain makes walking relatively easy, but note there are a few significant elevation changes to navigate from holes 7-10.
