At Sagamore Spring Golf Club, we aim to expand the world of golfers and grow the game. We know that we have a lesson plan that will fit you and your style of play.

Our golf lessons for individuals and groups are always popular and fill up early in the season. So you'll want to call soon to set a date to work on your game with our highly experienced instructor, Steven Vaughn, now in his tenth year as the PGA Professional at Sagamore Spring Golf Club. 

We love to help those who are just starting out learn the basics of the game. We also can provide instruction so that advanced and intermediate golfers can deal with tricky issues and make improvements in their play. With a lesson or two, you'll see your scores go down on our challenging golf course.

We welcome true beginners to the learning center and we've had club and state champions as well, Vaughn says. Men and women and golfers of all ages are welcome to take instruction at Sagamore Spring Golf Club.

About Our Pro
Steven was originally born and raised in Greenfield, Mass., where he learned the game at age 7 and belonged to the Country Club of Greenfield. He attended New Hampshire College (a.k.a. Southern New Hampshire University) and received a degree in Sport Management in 1998. He is an adjunct professor at the university, where he teaches golf facility management during the winter. He turned professional during the summer of 1998, while working at Stonebridge Country Club. Steven has graduated from the PGA of America's Professional Golf Management Program (PGM) and has his class A PGA Card.

Steven heads up all golf instruction at the Sagamore Learning Center, where he gives instruction with the assistance of many golf-training aids along with the state-of-the-art  swing analyzing software.

At the Sagamore Learning Center, we use a generous-sized driving range with a special private grass tee for those taking lessons. Our students also have access to a special short game area for chipping and putting instruction.

As part of your program, consider having club fitting done for you at Sagamore Spring Golf Club. Steven Vaughn is a certified club fitter and does the fitting at the course. He has fitting certifications from major manufacturers like Titleist and Cobra. Purchasing correctly fit equipment in golf is just as important as getting properly fit for any other sport's equipment. As part of your fitting process, we offer professional club bending services with the assistance of a Mitchell Lie and Loft bending machine.  The Sagamore Learning Center can check and bend an iron's lie and loft angles. These angles are very important to a consistent ball flight. Contact Steven Vaughn at the learning center for details and prices for the service. Golf instruction at the Sagamore Learning Center is offered daily, except for Friday and Saturday. Lessons can cover many aspects of the game like the full swing, short game, sand shots, putting and any type of specialty shot in the game that you would like to learn.

Private Golf Lessons
Private Lessons are the most popular of our instructional programs because of the one on one attention you can receive: Half Hour: $50 / Full Hour: $100

Semi-Private Golf Lessons
These offer you the chance for added savings: 1-2 Students: $100 per hour / 3-4 Students: $150 per hour / 5+ Students: $200 per hour

On-Course Playing Lessons
On-course playing lessons give you a chance to show the instructor the skills you have learned and to ask questions about certain shots and situations. An on-course lesson is a great opportunity for our golf professional to evaluate your course management techniques and make suggestions. The cost of a playing lesson is $100 and it includes a 9-hole greens fee and cart.

We also have 'Demo Clubs' for you to try
The Sagamore Learning Center has demo clubs on-hand for students and customers to try. There will be a variety of drivers and fairway woods available from Titleist and Cobra. Also, the learning center will have the new iron fitting systems from Titleist and Cobra. Please call the learning center with questions and/or to schedule any golf instruction.
